A Copywriter/Creative Director by trade, Mike has worked for some of the most successful and acclaimed agencies in the country, including Adweek’s Small Agency of The Decade (2000’s), Butler Shine Stern + Partners, and Ad Age’s Agency of The Decade (2000’s), Crispin Porter + Bogusky, where he worked under Ad Age’s Creative Director of the Decade, and longtime friend, Alex Bogusky, with whom he still partners on projects quite frequently.
Mike’s worked on national and global campaigns for brands in myriad business categories. He spent three years as the co-creative director for the New Balance global brand, he helped launch the Volvo S60 and V60 globally, as well as the Volkswagen GTI MKV for which he and his team won a Cannes Grand Prix in 2005 . He’s worked on both the Miller Lite and Miller High Life brands. He’s created campaigns to launch products for Burger King domestically as well as in Spain and Germany. He’s also worked with Al Gore on his Climate Reality Project, and spent his first five or six years in advertising working on the “truth” anti-tobacco campaign for the American Legacy Foundation in Washington, D.C. – a campaign that’s been widely lauded both creatively and among the public health community as a major contributor to declining rates of teen smoking in
America.
